What this board is for, and what it is not

This is a board for people living between Punjab and somewhere else. Ask the practical things nobody answers properly, and answer the ones you have actually lived through.

Three things worth saying before anybody posts.

IkkoPind does not check anybody here. Not the people, not the employers they mention, not the advice. An answer on this board is one person's experience, which is worth a great deal and is not the same as being right about your situation. Where something is a matter of law, money, immigration or health, the guides link to the official source, and that source beats all of us.

Never send money to somebody because of something you read here. Not a deposit, not a fee, not a favour for a stranger with a good story. Anybody who moves a conversation off the board and towards your bank account is doing something we would like to know about.

Report anything that is wrong. There is a report link on every post and every profile, it is acted on within seven days, and a post can be taken down while it is looked at.

Say what you know, say how you know it, and say when you are not sure. That last one is the whole difference between this board and every other place you could ask.
